My name is Cara Horsley and I am thrilled to be the Community Liaison Worker at GW Smith School. My role as the CLW involves supporting and connecting with students and families who may be facing social, emotional or family challenges. I meet with students individually, as well as supporting their parents when necessary. I also run small groups focused on anything from anxiety to social skills.
I was born and raised in Red Deer, and attended schools within Red Deer Public School District from kindergarten to grade 12. I couldn’t be happier working for such an amazing school district. My husband and I have two amazing daughters and a very energetic dog. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, cooking, reading and traveling.
I am looking forward to an amazing year and connecting with the students and families of GW Smith.
