I was a member of the first graduating class of the collaborative Red Deer College-University of Alberta Education Program. I began my career one month after graduation and have taught for 20 years. In the past, I have taught Kindergarten and Grade 1/2 Early Literacy but I love the challenges and rewards of watching Grade 2's flourish and mature during this year of their lives!
I was born in Red Deer and my family is historically rooted here. My father had a room in the Cronquest House, was good friends with Kerry Wood, owned the land where G H Dawe Centre now sits! My husband is a manager at a local railroad company and together we have 4 children and 10 grandchildren. We spend many holidays as a family where we ski, snowboard, camp, golf and swim.
I am very excited to be at G W Smith School to continue my career!
